The Island of Elba beaches, mix of nature and relax

The Island of Elba is a true paradise for those who love the sea and beautiful beaches, offering little coves, tortuous ravines and splendid bays, each with their own special beauty and character, along its 147 kilometres of coastline.

There are small and secluded coves like the Bagnaia beach and the Le Ghiaie beach, with their small pure white pebbles, and the Capo Bianco beach, a small cove and an absolute must in the immediate vicinity of Portoferraio.
Its little white pebbles merge into an incredibly crystal-clear sea of shimmering reflections that is breathtaking.
Gently embracing the cove is its backdrop of majestic cliffs.
Another small beach with white shingle is the Sansone beach, characterized by a long narrow coastline where sheer rocky cliffs overhang an eternally crystal-clear sea.

Visitors to the Island can also enjoy Elba’s beaches of fine white sand, such as the Procchio beach, the small Straccoligno cove, in the municipality of Capoliveri, or the famous Cavoli beach surrounded by lush and verdant Mediterranean vegetation creating a natural setting of great charm.
The Cavoli beach is also a favourite spot for young people, who are attracted by the bars and restaurants that enliven their sun-filled days with music and happy hour aperitifs.

Also charming are the “black beaches”, such as Acquarelli beach, where the Mediterranean landscape, the sheer cliffs and the small dark pebbles provide scenery of incredible charm, and where the crystal-clear water displays a splendid sea-bed.
This small cove can be reached from the hill above by following a path downwards. Along the descent one can admire the many nuances of the sea, from bright blue through to mallow green.

Not to be missed on the southern coast of the island is the Marina di Campo beach.
It stretches for about a kilometre and can be enjoyed by all the family.
Even little ones can have lots of safe fun, as the sea dips gently.
There are numerous facilities, including diving, surfing, canoeing and sailing schools
